Adventure Landing’s WinterFEST wins the Brass Ring Award for Public Relations and Community at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions’ (IAAPA) Annual Conference

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FL, November 19, 2012 – Adventure Landing celebrated a milestone week by opening its 2nd Annual WinterFEST and winning a coveted, international award for the 57-day special event. WinterFEST received a Brass Ring Award from the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA – www.iaapa.org) – the leading industry organization that includes amusement parks and family entertainment centers from around the world from Disney World to Adventure Landing. “We work for excellence in our field”, says owner and founder, Hank Woodburn, “So, winning an international award for our efforts with WinterFEST was validating. We want this special event to be a holiday tradition for families for years to come”!

WINTERFEST RETURNS

The return of WinterFEST marks a new holiday tradition with a nostalgic winter wonderland located in Adventure Landing’s Shipwreck Island Waterpark. The festival hosts a large, outdoor ice skating rink (with real ice!), a 130-foot ice slide dubbed the “Alpine Racer”, nightly snowfalls, s’more roasting, light displays, a chance to meet Santa in his “house” and leave your wish list, Blizzard Bluff Village offering Christmas cookie decorating, a crafts area, a free holiday carnival, a teddy bear-making factory, carolers, ice sculptures, and a Mistletoe Marketplace. Patrons will also get the chance to enjoy Crystal Creek Lodge for an array of winter eats, treats and sweets from hot soups to hot chocolate. BONUS ATTRACTIONS THIS YEAR

This year, WinterFEST adds ice sculpting on special days during the event as well as carolers and evening entertainment. Kids of all ages will also be able to decorate and leave their “Letters to Santa” at Santa’s special mailbox located just outside his workshop in Blizzard Bluff Village.
